TWO OASIS SAILING CLUB SLOOPS

BEAT, REACH AND RUN INTO 25TH YEAR!

We beat to windward, reach to offshore marks and run to destinations on every outing. We are bonded by love of the sea, mastery of its elements and by each member’s contributions to promote enjoyable and safe sailing.  From an initial “four buddies” harbor sail in June 1986, our active sailing club has now grown to 140 members.  In October 2008 the Club replaced an aging 30-ft sloop with a near-new Hunter-326 model.

In 2009 our two boats sailed nearly 500 days total!  We will begin our 25th year soon, celebrating with our 24 Skippers, 14 Mates, 12 Mate candidates and all those Club members who bring their unique selves into our activities.  In the past year, we’ve circumnavigated Catalina, dined in nearby western ports, burned burgers and enjoyed appetizers at harbor cafes, hosted holiday dinner parties, beach picnics, Valentine’s, Irish and Octoberfest gatherings, wine tastings and art shows.

We’ve been a part of WORSA annual sailings for visually-impaired, among the annual ALYC 4th of July harbor parade fleet and at Christmas boat parades.  We’ve recently doubled our weekly sailings for disabled adults, aboard the J-24 sloop FASCINATION 2, with our program volunteers increasing to eighteen members today.

Live actively and longer.
